The rules of the road when using Carease, written in plain language, no legal jargon traps.
1. Who we are
Carease is a car-selling service operated by Carhorizon GmbH, Hauptstrasse 93, 2563 Ipsach, Switzerland. By using our website or any of our services, you agree to these terms. Questions? Email info@carease.ch.
2. Our service
Carease is a managed selling service: you remain the seller of your own car and we handle the sale for you, anywhere in Switzerland. We calculate your estimated selling range from the live Swiss market and agree the selling price with you before the car is advertised. You keep and continue driving your car while we photograph and check it at your location, publish the listing on AutoScout24 and our sales channels, answer buyer enquiries, arrange viewings around your availability, negotiate, and manage the sales paperwork and the secure payment until the car is sold.
3. Your estimate and the selling price
The estimated selling range we show you is based on current Swiss market data and the information you provide. The selling price is always agreed with you before your car is advertised, and it is only adjusted later with your agreement. An estimate is not a guarantee that the vehicle will sell at that price or within a given time.
4. Your responsibilities
You confirm that you are the legal owner of the vehicle (or duly authorised), that the information you provide is accurate, and that the car is free of undisclosed liens, damages or legal issues. Inaccurate information may lead to a revised offer or a cancelled sale.
5. Viewings and cancellation
Viewings are always agreed with you in advance and cost nothing. You can reschedule or decline a viewing at any time, and you can stop the sale whenever you want, free of charge.
6. Sale, payment and ownership transfer
Once your car is sold and the buyer has paid, we transfer the funds to your bank account within 5 days. We prepare the sale contract and manage the transfer of ownership with the buyer. Deregistration of the vehicle remains your responsibility, as by Swiss law only the owner can do it, and we ask you to take care of it once the car is sold.
7. Pricing and fees
Listing your car with Carease is free of charge. There is no upfront payment and no subscription. Our only remuneration is the Success fee: 5% of the final selling price, with a minimum of CHF 990, due only if the vehicle is sold through Carease. It is deducted from the sale proceeds, so the amount you receive is the selling price minus the Success fee. The fee and your payout are always shown to you transparently before your car is advertised.
8. Liability
Carease provides its service with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by Swiss law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Intellectual property
The Carease brand, website, design and content are protected by intellectual property rights and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our service evolves. The latest version is always available on this page with its update date. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
